Mid-South Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament Bracket Released
The conference tournament began on Monday, Feb. 27, with the opening round game at Shawnee State University and continues Friday through Sunday at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Ky.
Lindsey Wilson College is the tournament's top seed after capturing the regular season title with a 12-4 conference record. Georgetown College is the tournament’s No. 2 seed after finishing the regular season 11-5 in league play.
A trio of teams -- University of the Cumberlands, University of Pikeville and St. Catharine College -- tied for third in the conference this season with identical 9-7 records.
St. Catharine is the No. 3 seed due to having the best record in head-to-head action among the three teams. Pikeville is the fourth seed after sweeping Cumberlands -- who is the fifth seed in the tournament -- during the regular season.
The 9-team tournament begins on Monday as No. 9-seed University of Rio Grande travels to No. 8-seed Shawnee State in Portsmouth, Ohio. The winner advances to play Lindsey Wilson at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, March 2 in the first quarterfinal at the Frankfort Convention Center.
Friday’s second quarterfinal features Pikeville and Cumberlands at 4 p.m. ET. At 6 p.m. ET, Georgetown faces seventh-seeded UVa.-Wise followed by the final quarterfinal of the tournament featuring St. Catharine and sixth-seeded Campbellsville University.
The tournament’s semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, March 3 at 6 and 8 p.m. ET with the finals set for 4 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 4.
