Two Patriot Golf Players Earn NAIA Scholar Honors
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Golf Team finished up an incredible season at the 2012 NAIA National Championships. The Patriots have done well this season coming away with multiple tournament victories and numerous individual tournament champions. Not only though did the Patriots do well on the course, but in the classroom as well as two Patriots earned national honors from the NAIA.
Seniors Aaron Watkins (Harlan, KY) and Eric Hodgson (Canton, GA) were named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes.
Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify. 133 student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes.
Head Golf Coach Chris Kraftick commented, "Aaron and Eric have been great leaders both on the course and especially in the classroom. This is a great honor for them and one I know they worked hard to achieve.”
