Civilian Austin I. Ahmed

December 08, 2010(FHTNC)--Civilian Austin I. Ahmed, son of Michele D. Ahmed of Turners Falls, Mass. and Yusuf I. Ahmed, of Sunderland, Mass., recently enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps under the Delayed Entry Program at Military Entrance Processing Station, Boston, Ma. The program allows recruits to enter the Marine Corps and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiter as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life. Ahmed will report to Recruit Depot for active duty to undergo basic training in Parris Island, S. C. or San Diego, Calif. Source: Armed Forces News Services
