Civilian Miguel A. Alvarez

December 15, 2010(FHTNC)--Civilian Miguel A. Alvarez, son of Katherine Alvarez of New Britain, Conn. and Miguel Alvarez, Jr of New Britain, Conn., recently enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps under the Delayed Entry Program at Military Entrance Processing Station, Boston, Ma. The program allows recruits to enter the Marine Corps and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiter as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life. Alvarez will be completing his senior year at New Britain High School.
