Civilian Karissa M. Oliveira

December 15, 2010(FHTNC)--Civilian Karissa M. Oliveira, daughter of Maria Camara of Assonet, Mass. and Jose Oliveira, of Assonet, Mass., recently enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps under the Delayed Entry Program at Military Entrance Processing Station, Boston, Ma. The program allows recruits to enter the Marine Corps and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiter as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life. Oliveira will be completing her senior year at Greater New Bedford Vocational High School. Source: Armed Forces News Services
