Army 2nd Lt. Benjamin J. Rogan
Army 2nd Lt. Benjamin J. Rogan graduated from the Armor Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Knox, Ky.The course trains Army and Marine Corps lieutenants in leadership skills, tactics, gunnery, maintenance and operational aspects of weapons and vehicles used in an armor platoon. The course incorporates a challenging training methodology called the "Gauntlet," a field training exercise, experience-based learning method that combines basic armor officer students with noncommissioned officers from the U.S. Army Noncommissioned Officers Academy and captains attending the Armor Captains' Career Course. After sixteen weeks of instruction, the second lieutenants are assigned to tank and cavalry platoons prepared to lead mounted maneuver forces in the full spectrum of combat operations.He is assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 16th Cavalry at Fort Knox.Rogan is the son of John P. Rogan of Bodwell Ave., Salem, N.H., and Nancy A. O'Neil of Thayer Road, Kingston, N.H.In 2002, the lieutenant received an associate degree in 2004 from Gibbs College, Boston, Mass., and earned a bachelor's degree in 2010 from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.Source: Armed Forces News Services
