Saint Anselm's Harris Named as Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week for Fourth Time
Saint Anselm freshman forward Allen Harris (Roslindale, Mass.) has been named as the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season. Harris is the only player in the Northeast-10 to win the award more than once this season. This is the third time in the the last four weeks and the second straight week that Harris has been recognized by the Northeast-10.
Harris averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and one steal per game, along with shooting 57.1 percent from the field in a 1-1 week for the Hawks. Highlighting his week was a career-high 28-point showing in an overtime loss at Saint Rose on Saturday, along with nine rebounds. Harris began the week with a 14-point, eight-rebound performance in a home win over Pace. Harris has now reached double figures in eight straight games.
Harris is currently the top scoring freshman in the Northeast-10 and eighth overall at 17.3 points per game. In addition, he is 16th in the league in rebounding with seven boards per contest.
Saint Anselm is now 12-3 overall and 8-3 in the Northeast-10 and returns to action on Wednesday night at Southern Connecticut. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Moore Fieldhouse.
