Leapin' Lizards!

America's most beloved musical, Annie, is coming to Wellesley! The Wellesley Players, an award-winning community theatre group in residence at the Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College, will present the timeless story of hope, good will, and one very smart sandy-colored dog this month.

The popular musical is directed by Rachel Fennell, music directed by Chris Holownia, and choreographed by Liza Levy. Lauren Weintraub portrays the famous orphan, Jennifer Bubriski plays the drunken and cynical Miss Hannigan, Curt Fennell plays Hannigan's evil brother Rooster, and Kelly Murphy portrays Rooster's girlfriend Lily St. Regis. Bruce von Rosenvinge plays the rich and uncertain Daddy Warbucks. These characters join dozens of community theatre actors, young and old, veteran and rookie, local and well-traveled to put on this outstanding production.

Annie's original production won 7 Tony Awards in 1977, including Best Musical, and The Wellesley Players' production promises to bring the familiar characters new life. And The Wellesley Players are recent recipients of several local theatre awards.
