Patriot Volleyball Adds Murphy to ‘12-‘13 Roster

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball program is coming off a successful season in 2011-2012 ending the year with an 18-10 record overall and 6-6 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play. Head Coach Kara Clemenz and staff have been hard on the recruiting trail this offseason to bring in some great talent to build upon a solid core of returners. The Patriots are proud to announce the signing of Alexis Murphy for the 2012-2013 season.



Murphy is the daughter of Joe and Cheryl Murphy and hails from Cincinnati, Ohio. She will graduate from Northwest High School in May. While the 6’0” star was in high school, she also played for the Cincy Classics club team.



When asked about joining the UC program, Alexis said, “I'm very excited to make my next school and volleyball step at Cumberlands!”



Coach Clemenz added, “Lexi has great height, spectacular hands, and is a solid right side hitter. At six feet tall, she is the complete setter/hitter package and we are thrilled to have her join the team this fall.”



The Patriots will open up their 2012-2013 season on August 25th as they host Cincinnati Christian University. Start time is set for 1:00 pm.
