Patriot Golf Finishes Year in Top 5 of NAIA Postseason Poll

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men’s Golf team ended the year on such a great note as they earned a 5th place finish in the 2012 NAIA National Championship tournament. The Patriots made a statement with their performance in the tournament and proved that they belong in the conversation as one of the best teams in the country. The 2012 NAIA Postseason Top 25 poll has been released and the Patriots have set their bar high for next season.

The Patriots moved up one spot from this year’s final regular season poll as they earned the #5 spot on the NAIA Postseason Top 25 poll. Oklahoma City University earned the #1 spot after winning their 8th national championship in the last 11 years. Other notable teams in the Postseason Top 25 are Lee University (T-#10), Tennessee Wesleyan (#22), and Shorter University (#25). SCAD Savannah, Brescia University, and Lindsey Wilson College also received votes in this edition of the poll.

Head Coach Chris Kraftick commented, "It a big accomplishment to finish the year in the Top 5. We have really put the program on the map nationally and that is something our players should be very proud of."
